Description:

  • Visit the Berg and Brook Cellar, and you'll be welcomed by not only one or two, but five identical gables. Established in 1906, this historic cellar was built on a farm originally granted to Huguenot Minister Pierre Simond in 1688. The farm was restored and given the name Berg and Brook cellar. The estate lies on the northern slopes of the Simonsberg mountains, where a picturesque brook meanders through the countyside. This is prime wine-growing land, and most of its grower-members are situated within a ten kilometre radius of the cellar. What really distinguishes the Berg & Brook cellar however, is the fact that they source their grapes not only from the surrounding vineyards. The cellar has also commissioned a number of selected growers all over the Western Cape to identify and nurture precious qualities in their vineyards. This has resulted in a range of wines offering not only consistent quality, but also an exciting blend of flavours within each wine.
