General Patton Museum and WWII Army Airfield

General Patton Museum and WWII Army Airfield - Palm Springs

  • Description:

    • General George C. Patton made history on another desert far away in North Africa, but he trained his troops for battle right here at Camp Young. Now, an adjacent museum recognizes his contribution and the effect of the war on the Palm Springs region. The museum is located about thirty miles past Indio at Chiriaco Summit. Special events are held regularly, especially on Veteran's Day and other key dates. There's a coffee shop and a small functioning airfield. Only cash is accepted.
