- Situated just north of San Bernardino at the base of the Cajon Pass this 1,340-acre park is back dropped by the San Bernardino Mountains and chaparral-covered hillsides. Glen Helen Regional Park offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities from leisurely to action packed.
Glen Helen features two lakes regularly stocked with trout and catfish for year-round fishing. (Trout season runs from November to April; catfish season runs from May to September.) Pedal boat rentals are offered for a leisurely ride around the lake and a snack bar is available to provide snacks and fishing supplies. A walk along the self-guided nature trail enables visitors to experience the natural habitat and ecology of the area. Trail composition is a mix of natural surface, asphalt and boardwalk.
The park is an ideal spot for camping. Just minutes from the city you are able to spend an enjoyable weekend under the stars. Glen Helen is a popular destination for a day trip offering vast open spaces with picnic facilities throughout. Organized groups find the park to be accommodating with plenty of group shelter areas and designated group campsites. Glen Helen has been host to walkathons, scout jamboree campouts, special events, and commemorative celebrations.
The Glen Helen Water Park with two 300' long waterslides, half-acre swim lagoon, and white sandy beach area is an ideal family outing during the hot summer months. Open May to September the Water Park provides a clean safe swimming environment with restrooms, snack bar, play equipment, and lockers to stow away valuables.
Overlooking the park is the picturesque setting of the Glen Helen Conference Center, which can be rented to conduct meetings and hold social gatherings.
Active recreational activities offered at Glen Helen include Glen Helen Raceway - Home to the 125 and 250 cc Motor Cross Nationals, Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion - Concert Series, and Renaissance Pleasure Faire - Recreating Life in Merry Old England during the time of the renaissance.
