- Oasis Date Gardens, a 175-acre working date garden, is home to the Medjool date and other date varieties. If you are interested in date history and cultivation, guided tours are available of the ranch, as well as a video show. You can sample free dates and choose from ten varieties of delicious free date shakes. Or you can take a date home with you -- the Country store offers a large selection of date cakes, cookies, bread and pies -- all baked on the premises. There's a picnic area where you can enjoy chili and sandwiches purchased at the Garden Café, a cactus garden, and an antique farm equipment exhibit. - Linda Steinmuller
