Porcupine Wash / Ruby Lee Mine Trail

Description:

• Start your hike up the right side of the wash along the bottom of the alluvial fan. You should find a road that will take you up the Ruby Mill wash towards the old mine. The road comes and goes, but is relatively easy to follow. You should find the mine after about 3.5 miles. But, at anytime you can turn south back into the Porcupine Wash and find you way back to the car. In late spring this wash is literally awash with wildflowers and wildlife. You are likely to see a collection of interesting birds and lizards including horned toads.
