- Though located in a part of town which is a bit dodgy, this hotel is brand new. Nights are at US$39 and the rooms come with WIFI, A/C, cable, hot water, room service and continental breakfast. It's clean and secure. the front desk staff is bilingual. the lobby is spacious, the halls are well-lit. all in all, it's a great choice if you don't want to spend too much money and don't want to stay in a hostel in casco. www.hotelsantana.com This hotel is not part of casco viejo but is a couple of blocks away. it's also very close to the walking street where you may find anything you need and great bargains on clothes and shoes (just found out that a pair of PUMA sandals for me run $15, while in the states they are $40!)
