- After the new treaty signed between Panama and USA, the area was reverted to Panama the 31st, Decembar, 1999. The Panamanian government created a special zone for educational, research, non-profit organization and residential purposed. This area was the former US Southern Command during the time USA was located in Panama Canal Zone.
