At Alimentation Generale, you can enjoy free concerts from all genres, from Caribbean-reggae-rock surrealist poetry beats to gypsy punk ones. The décor is equally as varied as the music. Tires disguised as lights hang from the ceiling over the bar, each glowing a different primary color. Different scraps of retro wallpaper form a mismatched collage on a wall. But you probably won t notice the hodge-podge decoration anyway, because your drink is pleasantly too strong, the music is perfectly too loud, and the dance floor is entirely too enjoyable to stand still all night and stare at the wall. - Betsy Mikel
