By far the best thing about Paris is the extraordinary range of prices, atmospheres, and styles available in choices of places to stay. Hotels and hostels are interspersed throughout the city, so you can easily find somewhere within easy walking distance of any landmark or attraction that you'd like to be closely. To completely submerse yourself in Paris life, you may want to opt for a small boutique hotel on a residential street away from the hubbub of the tourist areas. Some are simple and sparse, and some are more fancy or trendy. In general, though, it can be easy to find a relatively inexpensive, comfortable place to sleep - just don't expect the room to be too roomy!
Hostels are another less expensive option. Some are in tourist areas but some are also set up in residential areas, and you can find both upbeat party hostels and laid-back, calm places to relax at the end of a day of sightseeing. Many offer both dorms and private rooms, so you can have your pick.
Another wonderful benefit of staying in Paris is the bevy of hotels that have been set up in old buildings, so you get the benefit of a great hotel and the experience of exquisite European architecture. In the mid-range, there are sleek, modern buildings with straight angles and dark wood, and also cozy and comfortable boutique hotels with wrought-iron chairs and tables decorating their flower-lined patios.
Top-range hotels in Paris are what you'd expect them to be: luxurious oases away from the noise of the city streets. Featuring amenities from jazz clubs to atria restaurants to top-of-the-line spa experiences, these are the places to be for the ultimate Paris vacation. Many hotels in various price ranges also have restaurants, bistros, and/or cafes, not surprisingly, so you don't even have to go far to get an espresso or a bite to eat.
