Bateaux Mouches

  • Cuisines: French
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

There’s an undeniable glamour to dining amid the floodlit sights of the Seine as those old tunes play

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

This isn't the only dinner cruise on the Seine – if it's full check www.bateaux.com for other boats. Reservations essential

    Description:

    • The boatman casts off, the music begins to play – it would take a hard heart not to be swayed by the romance of a dinner cruise on the Seine. There are several boat companies offering this, but the Bateaux-Mouches are among the oldest and most well-known. The cruise lasts two and a quarter hours and though the view is incomparable – you will see all the best sights including Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower, the food is not bad either. There are two set-price menus, the Prestige and the more expensive Excellence, each offering aperitif and appetisers, a choice of starters, main courses and desserts, with two cheeses, coffee and wine included. As well as the kind of dishes you might expect – sautéed foie gras, tournedos of saddle of lamb, gilt-head bream – you will find vegetarian millefeuilles and cream of asparagus soup. Don't pay for the more expensive option if you're a vegetarian - the same veggy dishes appear on both menus.
