Handy for business lunches and the Palais des Congrès
The winning quality of this big, bustling 1930s brasserie at Porte Maillot is its proximity to the Palais des Congrès. Ideal for business lunches, it has authentic tiles, huge mirrors and lots of plants. With black and white clad waiters and red leather banquettes, it is a picture of what a brasserie should be. Nor does the menu disappoint, with its list of traditional rib of beef, blanquette de veau, kidneys, daily specials on the blackboard and tarte tatin (apple tart) or a Berthillon ice-cream to finish. The building is south-facing with a sunny open terrace for summer days, and a covered heated one for smokers in winter.
