If you can overlook the hysterical and rude staff -- a big if -- you can treat yourself to a sumptuous Belle Epoque dining room overlooking the Seine. Perhaps Marcel Proust and his gay comrades once sat under the magnificent frescoed ceiling. In such a glamorous setting, you can enjoy a traditional cuisine, though it has been given a decidedly modern interpretation. Escoffier it isn't. The best bargain is the two-course prix fixe lunch.
If not lunch, you can use the romantic setting for afternoon tea after you've had a feast of the Impressionists. The menu is ever changing, but basically it consists of a more simplified version of a traditional French cuisine. Expect such savory dishes as grilled sea bream filet or perhaps the duck and peaches supreme served with gratin dauphinois.
