- At 19 Monge street you will find a very uncommon shop. In a decoration similar to a 1950 s classroom is a temple dedicated to old-fashioned candies and chocolate. All regions of France are represented: candies, chocolates, fruit jellies, calissons (marzipan), made by the best confectioners. Georges Marquès, master of this sweet school, wanted to redevelop the candy business, far too often replaced by cheap and low quality candies. He teaches the value of taste to children: all his products are made with natural ingredients. Vichy Raspberries, Cambrai Bêtises, Lourdes Strawberries, Montpellier Gristettes--all these poetical names conjure up the French patrimony.
