  Montmartre, first a sacred hill (roman temples and then the abbey), also the political hillside from Henri IV to the Commune, has preserved its cultural and artistic identity by welcoming the greatest painting movements of the 19th and 20th century: Impressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Futurism and Surrealism.

  After a funicular ride to the summit, your guide will give you information on the history of Montmartre. The funicular takes a circuit route from place Pigalle through to Montmartre and onwards to place Jules Joffrin.

  Walk through the little narrow streets, discovering artist's workshops and take a moment to imagine Picasso in his studio in the early 1900's! See the Moulin de la Galette which is an old style windmill and the vineyards. The highlight of your tour will be the Sacre Coeur Basilica, perched at the top of Montmartre Hill.
