The boulevard on the Left Bank, stretches from Les Gobelins métro, near the historic tapestry weaving workshop (http://www.nileguide.com/destination/paris/things-to-do/manufacture-nationale-des-gobelins/432977 ), which offers guided tours to visitors, to Port-Royal métro, through a rather bland district full of hospitals, legacy of the many religious orders who were once headquartered here. The ancient abbey of Port-Royal survives. Just off the boulevard on the the rue St-Jacques you’ll find the the Val-de-Grâce, one of the most beautiful churches in Paris, while on the other side, on rue Faubourg St-Jacques is the Paris Observatory, dating from 1667, and also open for guided tours.
