  • Located high in the Wasatch Mountains, and surrounded by three major ski resorts, Park City is not all that different that its sister villages in the European Alps - and some restaurants like to extend that parallel beyond the ski day. Park City has a rich collection of European restaurants, drawing from many individual regions within that continent. Incredibly, this town of just 7,500 residents, has more eateries in this genre than most could visit in a week or two.

When choosing your restaurant, you'll have the option of eating downtown, amidst Park City's galleries and nightlife, or slope-side and surrounded by high mountain air. You can aim for a warming Tuscan meal at Grappa or a thrillingly modern French dinner at Jean Louis Restaurant.

Those in the mood for Swiss food should take a look at Adolph's for fondue, rack of lamb, and a bottle of wine. Or if you have a hankering for more of an Austrian influence, head to the the Deer Valley Resort to enjoy a dinner at the Goldener Hirsch.

And if you have the time and advanced reservations for a truly special occasion - not only in terms of cuisine, but also the experience surrounding the meal - look into dining at the Viking Yurt at Park City Mountain Resort. A trip to this unique restaurant involves a round-trip journey in snowcat-pulled sleigh, a prix fixe dinner, and live music on a baby grand piano.

Those staying at Deer Valley Resort could instead opt for the Fireside Dining in the Empire Lodge. Here, you'll enjoy a multi-course dinner of items like beef short ribs, veal, and Swiss raclette cheese, all cooked in four fireplaces lining the lodge.
