  • Though Park City is a veritable playground, it tends to cater mostly to grownups. Whether you're looking for hotels, restaurants, or even outdoor activities, you'll quickly notice that many establishments cater to sophisticated tastes and quiet clients. Still, many people visiting the area travel as a family. Which leaves the question: what are the best activities for children? Interspersed among the high-culture venues and late-night shows, Park City offers a host of indoor entertainment and outdoor recreation for all ages.

During the winter, an obvious choice for family recreation is downhill skiing and snowboarding. With three ski areas, this town has you covered, offering every type of terrain and a decent selection of lift ticket prices. But if the kids aren't interested in skiing, or if their legs are simply too tired, the Park City area also contains two large-scale inner tubing facilities at Gorgoza Park and Soldier Hollow.

For diehard ski enthusiasts, Park City also has the Alf Engen Ski Museum, in which adults can learn about old days of the sport and kids can practice their downhill skills in interactive race simulators. Step outside of the museum and into the Utah Olympic Park. During the winter months, you might catch Nordic ski jumpers flying for more than 100 meters through the air. And during the summer season, you can see aerialist ski jumpers practicing their incredible tricks over a 750,000 gallon pool.

Finished at the Olympic Park? During the summer, Park City Ski Resort transforms its base area into a colorful and diverse playground filled with trampolines, a climbing wall, and all kinds of creative contraptions. For kids, a thrilling highlight of this summer menu is the resort's Alpine Slide.

Regardless of season, Park City has something to offer the entire family -indoors and outside, day and night.
