Description:
- Opened by the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in 1939, the Alta Lodge is Alta's first ski lodge. A traditional lodge, this slope-side guest house sits at 8,060 feet above sea level, nestled into the hillside. Not a large hotel, the Alta Lodge offers a relaxed and cozy atmosphere with lobby fireplace. Guests staying at the lodge also receive breakfast and a four-course dinner daily. (Those with dietary restrictions or food allergies need only to register their needs online.)
Rooms are spacious, with generous windows, and 57 in number. They range from slope-facing suites to dormitory-style accommodations. The Alta Lodge wants you to really soak up your ski vacation, and has left televisions out of the rooms.
For apres ski, they offer afternoon tea, as well as an onsite bar. On the premises: a pool, sauna, sundeck, massage availability, in-room safe, WIFI, and more. - © NileGuide2012
