• True: the Sundance Resort is a ski area. But is has much more to offer than groomed trails and ski lifts. Opened in 1969 by legendary film star, environmentalist, and philanthropist, Robert Redford, this ski area has uniquely rejected the common path of resort growth and hotel developments. Instead, its trajectory has been one of artistic community and environmental conservation.
