Penang State Forestry Museum

Description:

  • Located within the Forestry Recreation Park of Teluk Bahang, this is a museum dedicated to preserving and explaining tropical timber, timber products and timber pests, along with an interesting collection of samples of timber species found in Malaysia. The building that houses the museum is constructed from a variety of wood species. In the 100 hectares or so of painstakingly preserved woods surrounding the museum, there are delightful footpaths and flowing streams hosting native insects, birds, butterflies, snakes and lizards who lurk in the undergrowth and make for tantalizing but passive company.
