With Perth's sunny weather and outdoor lifestyle, there are plenty of child-friendly attractions to keep families amused. If you asked Perth kids where they'd love to spend the day, many would tell you their favourite place is Adventure World, an amusement park in the southern suburbs of Perth with rides suitable for children of all ages. Adventure World has a flat admission rate and once you're inside, all rides are included, making it easy to spend an entire day there.
Many of the kid-friendly things to do in Perth feature animals, and two attractions where kids can interact with the animals include Caversham Wildlife Park with its native Australian animals, and the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm, full of farm animals which children can touch and feed. Other attractions featuring living creatures great and small include the renowned Perth Zoo, the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA) and Penguin Island, all of which feature special programs to interest the younger visitors.
For kids and families who like to get active, a trip to Rottnest Island or Woodman Point should provide plenty of outdoor fun. However, on the rare occasion that the weather's not cooperating, try the Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle - kids will love touring the submarine - and the Western Australian Museum in the city centre of Perth, which regularly features exhibits aimed especially at children's interests.
