Hi
Thanks for your question . .
Perth has a mediterranean climate and is located in one of only five mediterranean climate zones in the world. This means that for most of the year, the weather is fine and sunny, and even during the short mild winter the sun is often shining. It is because of these endless summers that many Perth activities revolve around the outdoors. So if you enjoy sight-seeing, outdoor activities, warm sunny days, or lazing on clean sandy beaches, Perth is the perfect destination for your next holiday.
Also I'm not that familiar with Perth and it's surrounds except for it's famous weather as it is the one place in Australia I have never had the privilage of visiting ( hopefully one day ) - however I thought you may wish to have a look at some of these links as an idea or perhaps another one of my fellow Aussies can assit you more so than I can here
Best wishes - Cassandra

Perth is such a lovely city...wonderful weather a lot quieter than Sydney and Melbourne. The state that Perth is in is the capital of is Western Australia which takes up a third of the entire country, so there are a miriad of places to go. However ..as you have only 5 days lets see if we can make the most of those days. I would suggest you spend a day in Fremantle half hour south from the CBD, catch the train) which is the 'old city' very ethnic, charming and safe. There are a lot of historical sites around Fremantle. I would suggest you take a Fremantle tour for half a day to see everything of major interest. Also a day trip to the Swan Valley (one hours drive from the CBD) and experience the fabulous wineries and food outlets.Try and go to the Burswood casino one night it is well worth the trip only 10 minutes from the airport and from the CBD on the opposite direction. A stroll around Hillarys boat harbour would be well worth while, you can catch a bus or train and bus from the city, only 20 minutes north. If you hire a car try and fit in a swim at Scarborough Beach on the way. Swim in between the flags, always... anywhere in Australia for your own safety.A walk in the city is lovely on a shopping day and dont forget to go down London Court very quant and charming.Pick the ferry up at the Barrack st Jetty and go over to the Perth Zoo for ther day, fabulous Zoo and wonderful enclosure for the animals. The nightspots are Subiaco Fremantle and Northbridge, Northbridge can get a little untidy on Friday and Saturday nights, so stick to the main well lit streets. During the day is lovely lots of great restaurants, another ethnic settlement the after the war.
Good luck you will love it here!
