Fadó - Philadelphia
  • Type: Pubs
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Popular hangout for young professionals in center city. On weekend nights, the bar can get quite crowded and lively.

  • Description:

    • Fadó is a Gaelic word meaning "long ago," and this place tries to capture the feel of a snug, cozy pub from the 19th Century. There are ten beers on tap, including Guinness and Murphy's stouts, which is unusual in this town. Dark wood, brass, wall sconces with green glass shades and weekly appearances by local and touring Irish bands playing traditional tunes set the atmosphere. Try the Chicken Curry or a traditional dish, such as Shepherd's Pie or Boxty, a dish of mashed potatoes filled with chicken, shrimp, and leeks.
