    • The word that resonates most clearly upon entering into Gianfranco's is "vero" (well, probably more like "authentic" for us westerners). From the fresh-crushed tomato sauce with basil to the thin, yet crispy crust, Gianfranco's keeps the pizza basics simple but wildly effective. Which isn't to say the boys can't be a little creative as well. A quick survey of the menu reveals toppings such as broccoli rabe, capicolla and sun-dried tomatoes. In addition, there are calzones, stromboli, sandwiches and salads. Many of the specialty pies are available by the slice if you want instant gratification, or by the pie, for those who can stand to wait. If you like to keep it simple, the standard cheese pie is a thing of true beauty: simmering with chunks of tomato and fresh oregano, with just the right amount of cheese golden and bubbling on top.
