Description:
- Meme prides itself on having a casual and rustic feel inside, despite the bustling neighborhood outside and the fine cuisine being prepared in the kitchen. The food is modern American, with an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients. The menu reflects owner David Katz's laid-back atmosphere: you can choose from dishes that are "Small-ish," "Larg-er" or "For Two."

From service to food, we couldn't have gone wrong. You weren't packed in like a sardine like most restaurants in the city. You can actually hear yourself talk. The service...

Message from Meme
A casual, rustic dining experience with no pretense to be found. That is precisely the focus behind Meme restaurant. David Katz wanted to open the kind of restaurant he'd like to dine in and that's exactly what he did at the corner of 22nd and Spruce. Meme, named for David's Moroccan Grandmother. The dining room is comprised of solid cherry wood tables, food related photos on the wall, and a blackboard menu. The food is rustic new American with a focus on flavors that work & quality ingredients supplied mostly by local sources. The 36 bottle wine list walks the same unassuming, artisan path as the cuisine at Meme, with most from the U.S., France, and Italy. "When I pictured having my own place, the most exciting idea had always been the thought of making the guests feel like they're in my home..not so much just another restaurant",said David. "Just grab someone and tell em' what you want!"
