Description:
- When you break it off with the restaurant theme you've been married to for 26 years, you don't just jump into a committed relationship with another theme, you go on an ill-crazy theme-banging safari. Playing the field, Q BBQ & Tequila. In business since 1983, Philadelphia Fish & Co papered its doors at the end of March, then added a 22' mahogany secondary bar and a cream/indigo paint scheme to complement a new venture involving two very different culinary friends-with-benefits. The grub's mainly southern backyard BBQ, with thick-slabbed hickory-smoked ribs by the quarter, half, and 4.5 lb full rack (or by the Chris Rock-ish "one rib"); brisket, sausage, pulled pork, chicken, and rib combo platters with traditional sides; and ludicrous burgers like a sausage/bacon/pulled pork-topped monster called the BigAss -- it's funny, because it's true and only getting truer. As for the Mexi-booze, the 60+ strong tequila list features Blancos like Voodoo Tiki and Siembra Azul, Reposados like El Mayor and Chinaco, and AƱejos like Tres Rios, El Diamante, and Casa Noble -- something that, thanks to tequila, you will never be the head of. Because they can, Q also sluts around with 10 taps (Dos Equis, Yards, etc), Mexican street food (tacos, burritos, quesadillas), and even their fishy ex-wife (low country shrimp boils, Cajun-seared catfish). They're also putting rocking chairs on their old wood front porch, designed to lounge in while drinking Bulleit Bourbon Sweet Tea, and spying out other foodstuffs to wildly hump.
