- There are a lot of torta shops in Phoenix battling it out to become the kings and queens of this Mexican sammie, but it seems that Los Reyes de la Torta, "the Kings of the Torta," have proclaimed their own victory. Fortunately for diners, these are not empty boasts. These giant grilled sandwiches are stuffed full of meats, cheeses, and other savory toppinngs, all of which are smothered in traditional Mexican cream. The results are incredible, if high on the calorie scale.
