    • Saguaros stand against a backdrop of the Superstition Mountains at this scenic park. The Superstition Mountains draw adventurers seeking lost gold as well as the area's recreational riches. This park is situated at the foot of the Superstition Mountains and is considered the ideal starting point for exploration of the surrounding Superstition Wilderness and interpretive desert trails. Several trails lead from the park into the Superstition Wilderness on the Tonto National Forest. Numerous educational and entertaining interpretive programs are held in the group use area. One of the most popular desert lakes, Canyon Lake, is a 30 minute drive from the park's campground. The park has a visitor's center with maps and publications for sale, picnic areas with tables and grills, a campground with 35 units, dump station, trails, restrooms, showers, and group use areas. Showers and restrooms are equipped with handicapped accessible restrooms. Recreational opportunities offered at the park include camping, hiking, picnicking and sightseeing. The Lost Dutchman State Park is located just east of the Phoenix area. The park can be reached by traveling 5 miles northeast from Apache Junction off State Highway 88.
