- The nightlife scene in Phuket Town (recently upgraded to "city" status - but old habits die hard) is as lively as the days here are relaxed. Banana Pub at the Patong Beach Hotel has long been regarded as one of the finest bars and discos in the area. Timber Hut is a spacious venue set in a unique red-brick building. The decor is a mixture of Thai and Western with flags draped from the ceiling and strategically placed video screens. Bamboo Bar, in the Cape Panwa Hotel, is a friendly, warm, bright little bar located on the beach. It's a casual place with a wonderful selection of cocktails. Beach Cafe is located right on Andaman Bay, with glorious views of the water and Rhino island. Sanaeha is a hip young bar and restaurant housed in a Chino Portuguese building with weird and wonderful decor. Hit the beach by day but save some energy for after sunset so you can fully enjoy Phuket's variety of bars and nightclubs.
