  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Besides Thai food being among the best cuisines in the globe, Phuket features some of the freshest ingredients in its food. Seafood and fruit abound aplenty, so you can usually be sure that your lunch and dinner is served fresh. The nearby Andaman Sea provides for an array of shellfish and fresh fish that garnish local Thai dishes. Try the traditional local Thai breakfast dish of Khanom Jin, a spicy noodle dish with fresh vegetables. This and many other noodle-based dishes can be found at very affordable prices in Phuket Town. For some Chinese-Thai fare, try the Fortuna Pavilion in the Metropole Hotel in Phuket Town. This restaurant offers a traditional Chinese dim sum lunch buffet or an a la carte menu.Phuket's main beaches are lined with restaurants, offering local and international fare. Baan Rim Pa is a very popular restaurant for Thai food. Expect a trendy decor with plenty of delicious local dishes and a posh atmosphere. Located on the seafront of Patong Beach, the restaurant also offers a fantastic view. For upscale dining, check out Vset. The food is best described as Asian-Western fusion. The tastes are very contemporary, and there is a heavy emphasis on presentation. The wine cellar here is famous for its variety and quality - with over 300 labels, you will be spoiled for choice. At Surin Beach, there are many beachside restaurants, but also formal dining areas with great food. For food "with a twist," try Naughty Radish. A restaurant where the main attraction are the salads, might not sound too exciting, but Naughty Radish is not your standard restaurant. With lots of natural, organic ingredients and some incredible juice mixes, this place is a must for the health-oriented.
