Top 10:

Kid-friendly Things to Do in Phuket

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • There's plenty to do in Phuket if you're bringing the kids along. Whether you want to spend time outdoors or take a break in air-conditioned venues, Phuket won't disappoint. For outdoor fun, try snuba, a unique sport that's somewhere in between snorkeling and scuba diving. It allows the freedom of scuba (since you have a tube with oxygen to help you breathe) but requires no extensive training, so kids can jump in the water just minutes after getting fit with the equipment. Another interesting outdoor spot is the Phuket ATV park, where kids can join 1 or 2-hour tours through muddy trails, gravel roads and lush jungle. If the heat is too much, take a break indoors at Eduplanet, where kids can play musical instruments, try their hand at clay sculpting or join the Gymboree center. Or try the Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, where kids can see giant millipedes, spiders and, of course, butterflies. The insectarium runs special programs for children, but they require advanced registration, so call before going to see if something is coming up. Older kids might enjoy FantaSea, which is open all day but offers the best entertainment in the evening. Lots of bright light shows, Broadway-style dancing and singing and plenty of carnival games make this hit destination for the whole family. Need more outdoor time? Try Phuket's only waterpark at Splash Jungle or the Phuket Offroad Fun Park (also known as Go-Kart Patong Speedway), where kids can drive their own cars, no parents needed!
