Old Fisherman's (The)

Old Fisherman's (The) - Phuket
  • Cuisines: Asian, Seafood, Mediterranean, Thai
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

The Old Fisherman's is a great place to visit when you're truly hungry. The portions are big and if you choose the Seafood Basket, you can basically eat with no limits.

  • Description:

    • Probably the best thing about The Old Fisherman's is its location. Situated high on the hills of Patong Bay, it offers magnificent views of the water, including the local fishing boats as they come back from the Andaman Sea. A large dining hall allows for over 100 diners at once –Although this doesn't take away from the quality of the place, it also doesn't make The Old Fisherman's a very intimate and romantic place to eat. Don't let that discourage you from trying the food here, though. The cuisine is excellent and well worth a try. Good choices include the "Chilled Prawns and warm leeks with balsamic vinegar, peanuts and shallots in red wine sauce" and the "red snapper fillets 'meuniere' with sliced almonds and mashed potatoes." If you want more options, go for the Seafood Basket, which offers a taste of several dishes for 650 baht (about U$25). An excellent value once you realize just how much food you get for that price.
