• Phuket Cable Ski is just what the name suggests: A place to try cable skiing A.K.A. as water skiing. If you're not ready to stand up just yet, they also have wakeboarding and kneeboarding, which are somewhat less difficult. Lessons are free, so newbies should not be too concerned about giving this a try. The lake is 410 meters long and there's a limit on how many people can waterski at once. This keeps things safe but also more fun because you're not bumping into other people. There are no boats on the lake (another safety measure). Instead, your cable is attached to an overhead tow cable running at a speed of 28 kph. Although beginners are welcome, there are also a number of experienced water skiers who use the lake on a regular basis. Once you're done practicing, you can sit under the shade, next to the lake, and enjoy the flips and jumps of the pros.
