My first trip to Thailand...and Phuket was in September, 2004. I fell in love with the island and people. Yes, September is known for the most rainfall but it does not mean that it will rain every day. The surf is much different than in the 'high' season of December-March where the waters are very calm. You can still spend lots of time at the beach...perhaps not with the same water activities. Plan your 'tours' on a day by day basis to suit your whim and the weather. Phuket still is paradise, any month of the year. Have fun on your trip!

Yes we have rain, but not every day. You can do most activieties here on your holiday. Don't be put off by rain. You can also watch this website and check out the weather online http://www.tmd.go.th/en/
Have a wonderful time.

Ofcourse! you have to be ready for that but other service will be available depends on weather on each day. But if you have more time why don't you go on next month there will be Vegetarian Festival which if well known in there.
