Hotel Pinar del Río

• Serving both Cuban and international guests in equal measure, this is by far the largest hotel in town. It's uninspired and largely unappealing. It is perennially run-down, and I'm not sure it's ever seen better days. Still, the rooms are adequate and the beds have new mattresses. The hotel has a broad range of facilities and services, and it's an acceptable option if you're staying in Pinar del Río for a night or two. The several bars and in-house dance club make it a lively joint. In fact, be sure you get a room as far from the club as possible, or you might not sleep much; the fifth-floor rooms are quieter. The pool is open to visitors for CUC$10 (US$11/£5.40) per person, CUC$8 (US$8.65/£4.30) of which can be spent on food and drink.
