Description:

  • A small local chain with a huge reputation, Persy's Place is known for its menu, reputedly the largest in New England. On the breakfast menu, served all day, you'll find the usual suspects, including an extensive selection of pancakes -- try Cape Cod style, with cranberries and walnuts, for a taste of local flavor. They're yummy, but the magic here is in throwback dishes like baked beans (yes, for breakfast) and finnan haddie (smoked haddock cooked in cream), and oddities like biscuits and gravy, served Southern-style with sausage gravy or Northern-style with turkey gravy. Oh, and giant omelets. And a dozen variations on eggs Benedict. And all sorts of crepes. And a small selection of quiches. And perfectly good lunch food, but that's not why this diner-style restaurant is packed, especially on weekends.
