Description:

The south end of the Estero Trail, combined with the Glenbrook Trail and the Muddy Hollow Road is a great open 7 mile loop with views of Drakes Estero, Limantour Spit and Drakes Bay. If you keep your eyes open you are likely to see one of the Tule Elk herds now roaming Point Reyes. Start on the Muddy Hollow Road at the Muddy Hollow car park and head northwest. The trail was recently diverted and improved to reduce soil erosion. Go left at the Glenbrook Trail junction and then continue south at the Estero Trail junction. You are most likely to see the Point Reyes Tule Elk on one of the bluffs overlooking Drakes Estero. Also a great place for bird watching, especially raptors.
