• This modern three-story resort on 88 hectares (217 acres) of oceanfront property is a short drive off Route 1, about 2km (1 1/4 miles) south of the park's southern entrance. Even better, it's adjacent to both the 6,546-yard, par-71 Twin River Golf Course -- one of Atlantic Canada's most scenic, best-regarded courses, even if it's sometimes overlooked in favor of Nova Scotian courses -- and the 9-hole Eagle Creek Golf Course. This hotel isn't lavish at all -- it features bland, cookie-cutter rooms, but it's clean, comfortable, and well-located for a golfing holiday or exploring the park. It's a popular spot with families, since kids can roam the grounds, splash around in the pool, and congregate around the downstairs video games. Note that about two-thirds of the rooms consist of two double beds; the rest are king-bedded or queen-bedded, have pullout sofas, or (in a few cases) are suites with full kitchens. The resort's Clode Sound Dining Room, offering standard resort fare with an emphasis on chicken and beef, is open daily for breakfast and dinner; there's also a pub downstairs, open from lunchtime.
