Okee-tantie Recreation Area

Description:

• Located along the northern shore of Lake Okeechobee, this full-service recreation destination has been developed by the South Florida Water District. It is located along State Route 78 approximately 6 miles southwest of the town of Okeechobee at the point where the Kissimmee River flows into Lake Okeechobee.
  
  Superior year-round weather keeps this facility open daily to meeting the needs of those seeking a boating, fishing, camping, and picnicking experience. Superior facilities include a local restaurant and commissary that provides groceries, ice, tackle, bait, and camping supplies. In addition, a marina supplies fishing licenses, boat and motor rentals, dockage, fuel, lubricants, and guide service.
  
  Okee-tantie Recreation Area provides a large multi-lane ramp giving boaters access to both Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River. Nearby, visitors will find picnicking opportunities, a children's playground, and shoreline fishing access.
  
  Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a lease.
