Pearl District
The Pearl District is one of the more interesting and upscale spots in Downtown Portland to check out. Home to numerous modern art galleries and fine dining, the Pearl District is one of Portland's more hip areas. It's here that you'll find the trendiest restaurant and the swanky up-and-coming bars. A quiet, yet bustling spot, the Pearl District is the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon, walking in and out of the galleries and upscale clothing stores. At night, this is the area where 30-something's mingle, and it is packed on Friday and Saturday nights. And on the First Thursday of every month, the galleries stay open late with special exhibitions, serving wine and food. After the galleries close at 9pm there are drink specials at all the local bars. If you're here on a First Thursday, this is the area to check out in the evening.Nightlife
