- The newest restaurant in Portland's Pearl District. Fenouil, owned and operated by Suzie and David Regan and Pascal Chureau. Opening in October of 2006, Fenouil overlooks Jamison Square. Located at 900 NW 11th Avenue, Fenouil, which takes its name from the French word for fennel, pays tribute to chef Chureau's French roots and also honors seasonal and local ingredients produced in the Pacific Northwest. Pascal Chureau honors his French roots with contemporary interpretations of some traditional classics, like seared sea scallops with smoked bacon and leek fondue; wood fired duck breast with armagnac prunes and flageolets; fried frog legs; and pommes frites, served in a paper cone with truffle oil.
