Description:
- Built on the site of an erstwhile Chinook Indian village, the Cathlapotle Plankhouse is a replica of a Chinook settlement structure. 100 volunteers and 3500 man hours later, the Plankhouse was constructed in 2005, on the 199th Anniversary of Lewis and Clark's visit to the village. This site of the Cathlapotle Plankhouse is one of the few archaeological remains that have stood the ravages of time, thus lending valuable information about the culture and habits of the indigenous people.
