    • Springwood was the birthplace, lifetime residence, and "Summer White House" of the 32nd President. The grave sites of President and Mrs. Roosevelt are in the Rose Garden.

      This is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing afternoon. Guided tours of the Springwood home are held regularly. The FDR Library and Museum are offered on a self-guided basis. Many visitors enjoy strolling the beautiful grounds that include the Rose Garden and burial sites of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt. There are several miles of hiking trails in addition to a bookstore operated by the not-for-profit Roosevelt-Vanderbilt Historic Association. The Dutchess County Tourist Information Center is located in the Roosevelt Carriage House accompanying the bookstore. Other outdoor recreation includes bird watching, nature walks, fishing and wintertime snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

      The park is located on Route 9 in Hyde Park, about 8 miles north of the city of Poughkeepsie, NY.
