- This round-trip hike offers scenic vistas within a historic Catskill region. The path takes you near North Point which was named after Mary Scribner who with her husband Ira, settled the area. Henry David Thoreau and William Ellery Channing wrote about the famed Glen Mary Cottage which was located here in the 1840's. This red-blazed route carries you almost to the edge of North Point. The return leg of the hike is blue-blazed. Scenic features along this hike include Ashley Falls, Newman's Ledge and Artists Rocks.
