Pubs in Prague

Ahhhh...after a hard day sightseeing, your tootsies are tired of cobblestones and your legs want to relax. The best way to reward yourself is with a nice cold Czech beer in a local pub. Pubs are not hard to find, in fact if you can't find one, maybe you shouldn't be wandering around Prague alone. We've recommended the following for different reasons - but if you are desperate, pick a place with a nice beer sign hanging out front and enjoy. The bars called "herna" are gaming places - they have gaming machines inside and unless you are feeling lucky, should probably be avoided.

If you are looking for an international pub experience, and some good food from a different country try the George and Dragon (British), the Dubliner or JJ Murphy's (both Irish.) Good food, a variety of beers and lots of televisions in case an important match is on. O Che's covers a bit of the same, while Jama has a more American menu, but an excellent variety of Czech beer on tap.

If you want to go Czech all the way, a visit to U Zlateho tygra or Na rychte will open your eyes as to how a Czech pub used to be. U pinkasu is a bit bigger and more modern. Both Café Konvikt and Zlata hvezda are friendly places where you can get food too.
