Prague is cool, people! And if you've somehow exhausted yourself of Gothic and Baroque, stay in a hip hotel offering retro furnishings and a vogue vibe. Prague's hip hotels run the gamut from budget-friendly to upscale, so even if your wallet isn't feeling the groove; you can still find a place that's full of panache.
Number one would have to be the Hotel Sax. Made over into '50s, '60s and '70s style, you'll revel in the bright colors, awesome furnishings and special added touches. The hotel is all this decade though with a DVD player in every room, plus movie library where you can borrow movies. The newest hotel on our list is the Red and Blue Design Hotel, who has designed their rooms in either red or blue plus has a great winter garden and summer patio. Metropol Design Hotel used cruise ship cabins as a basis for their room interiors. Expect it to be small, but everything ship shape. The Icon is proud of its tech-i-ness plus fabulous mattress.
On the upper end of the budget spectrum, the hotel Josef is a luminous homage to light and glass, with a really cool stairway. The Aria has based each room on music, be it a composer or musician, and also has a music specialist on site to help you arrange concert tickets, etc. The Buddha-Bar Hotel is over the top with its wild interior and basement Asian restaurant.
If you just want to be different, check into the "botel" Matylda, anchored on the Vltava. The Aquapalace Hotel is outside of Prague, but offers Central Europe's largest water park on your doorstep. And finally, if you are looking for a young vibe, check out Mosaic House which offers both dorm rooms and 4-star private rooms, a restaurant and bar.
