  • Summer is a nice time to be in Prague; however it can get a bit crowded. If you need to spend sometime outdoors, and hopefully with a little less people, we've rounded up some of the best places to soak up the sun and "fresh" air.

Let's start with the parks. Letna Park is your city center best bet - good views, great beer garden. Does get pretty busy on sunny weekends though. Kampa Island is popular with dog walkers and area business people looking for a momentary cubicle escape. If you are staying in Prague 2, or looking for a local afternoon, hit Reigrovy Sady, bring a blanket and lay out on the hill to soak up some rays. Swim suit not required. Or stop off at the massive beer garden. To really get away from it all, head to Divoká Šárka. Located between the city and the airport, there's lots of green wildenress for you to explore. And a beer garden.

If you are looking for something more "to do" while being outdoors, the Prague Zoo is an excellent chocie. It's big, beautiful and offers lots of interesting animals. Practically next door are the Botanical Gardens. Skip the Fata Morgana greenhouse and stick to the lovely outside portion complete with a vineyard and Japanese Garden. We may be a landlocked country, but we have a beach! On the Vltava is Žluté lázně complete with sand, sports and a couple of beach bars. For an historic wander head to Wallenstein Palace and Gardens.

If you are looking to get out of Prague both Pruhonice Park and Okor Castle are bus rides away. Pruhonice is a huge park, while Okor is an interesting castle to explore.
