User Review:
- The Hotel First Republic is located in a newly reconstructed building that was built in 1925, in a quiet street in the centre of Prague, just 400 metres from Wenceslas Square. Therefore it makes an ideal starting point for your walks through historical Prague.
There are also tram stops and metro stations close to the hotel. Our hotel can organise congresses for its guests and it also offers relaxation packages, as well as accommodating families with children.
There are 30 double rooms and 12 spacious apartments with free internet access available to visitors. You can also soak up the atmosphere of the 1920's - 1930's from the hotel's interiors, for which the artist Barbora Olmrová of the Augustin studio has designed and created an original collection of pictures.
We welcome our guests in person with a dessert made according to a secret family recipe from the First Republic which was tasted by such prominent personalities of the time as Dr. František Běhounek and Marie Curie.
(The First Republic is the term for Czechoslovakia in the period from its formation in 1918 until the Munich Agreement in 1938; the following period up until the occupation of the remainder of the republic is designated as the Second Republic. This terminology derives from France where the republics are numbered from the French Revolution)
