Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

• Karlovy Vary offers a huge selection of international films during nearly two weeks in July each year. A fair sampling of foreign stars, directors, and moguls add a touch of glamor. The town is near enough to Prague for visitors to drive or take the bus out in the morning, catch a film or two, and return in the evening. Tickets are inexpensive and highly sought-after. They are sold either at the festival headquarters in the Thermal Hotel or from booths on the main promenade. During the event, obtaining accommodations in Karlovy Vary is next to impossible.
