- In a word, sneaky. I took friends there for lunch from out of town, and the waiter kept handing me the English language menu and taking the lunch specials (written only in Czech) out of my hand. The lunch specials were between 50-100Kc and the English menu was more in the range of 100-150Kc. This is commonplace, as Czech restaurants try to appeal to locals while paying their rent by the tourist trade. We ordered from the specials, and the food was good, as was the beer and live accordion player. Rustic atmosphere, and the story is that it has been continually operating since the 1400s. When the check came, there was a 75kc charge for condiments for the three of us. Bottom line? The prices were reasonable, but the approach was disheartening, but not prohibitive.
